hiii everyone!!!

im kinda in a bouncy mood today and i want to share my adventures with you!! yayy!! haha.

so anyways... i totally just signed the lease for my very first apartment yesterday!!! wooo!!! i dont move in until september because its for next school year, but im still completely ecstatic! i want to move in now! im in the mood to go furniture shopping and to pick out all new stuff!! yesterday, i watched HGTV for hours just to get ideas on how to furnish our apartment for cheap but so that its still amazing. haha. oh ya my adventure to get this dream apartment is the reason im writing this journal. lol.

the apartment complex is right across the street from campus which makes it really high in demand for all the students here at UC Davis. my roommates and i went apartment shopping the first week back after winter break, and got on the waiting lists of a bunch of different places, but they were all at least 2 miles from campus. unfortunatly this particular complex, while it has the perfect location and layout, doesnt have a waiting list. they sign leases on a first-come-first-serve basis, which totally sucks ass because people always camp out the night before, and of course this year...it was raining. luckily it never really rained, it just sprinkled, until it came time to actually walk around and pick apartments... lol. so my roomies and i took three hour shifts (i had the 2:30-5:30 am shift and had to be back at 8:30) and camped out in the freezing cold weather, and when i say freezing cold, im serious. it gets down to the high 20's and low 30's here. i know thats not cold for some of you, but conisder the fact that i've lived in southern california my whole life...where 65 is freezing...

luckily we were 4th in line to pick out of 17 apartments, so we got our first choice. its super cute! im so excited! its right in front of the rose garden (and since i got the master bedroom i get the window that faces the rose garden) and right next to the study room (which is super cute and amazing) and the pool. we get our own little patio where we can have a barbeque and a little garden. and since they're remodeling the whole complex and the guys who are in there now have been in there for 4 years, they're giving us a brand new oven! yayy!! its really exicting! the apartment is two stories and ive never lived in a two story place before!! the complex is really pretty too, its really green and planty. lol. there are these trees that have millions of little pink blossoms on them and the petals fly off in the wind...its gorgeous! i cant wait to move in!!

so anyways... here comes the traumatizing part. while we were signing the lease, i wrote in my brith date (the year was 1987) and todays date and realized its been 20 years since my birth year and it totally freaked me out. i also got freaked out while telling my roomies that i got my raincoat when i went horseback riding for my 18th birthday...it seems so long ago, but it sounds so wierd to say it in the past tense when i dont feel older than 18. and then it started raining really hard...and then it started to HAIL! omg i havent seen hail since i was like 7 and i was inside for that. we had to RIDE OUR BIKES HOME IN IT! my hands were bright red and stung so badly. it burned just to take off all my layers of clothing. i didnt get feeling back in my hands until 2 hours later. it was awful. and now im completely traumatized of the outdoors...
